2023 Annual General Meeting

Margaret Gilligan

The Bungendore Bridge Club held their AGM on December 15th 2023 at the School of Arts Bungendore.

Margaret Gilligan, President, reported that in the last year, the Club had relocated to the Bungendore School of Arts building, due mainly to the increased cost of the Council Community Hall. QPRC had also flagged their intention to close the Community Hall in the future.

The cost savings of the School of Arts has meant that the increase in membership fees proposed at the previous AGM in 2022 could be abandoned and membership remains at $40.00.

The Treasurer’s Report reflected this, showing a reasonable bank balance after the outgoings.

The new committee was nominated as follows:

President: Angela McGill

Secretary: Bobbie Gosper

Treasurer: Anthea Sinkovits

Masterpoints Secretary: David Bird

Publicity Officer: Beryl Tartellin

Committee members: Pat Meaney, Di Hoyer, Christine Cheney, Margaret Gilligan

Other Business.

Christmas . It was put to the meeting that the first decision should be whether to have our traditional Christmas party (where all members contribute and it is held at our normal venue) or whether we should go out to dinner.

It was commented that as the floor is carpeted, that quite a mess could be expected if we cater. It was suggested that supper might be served outside (but not if it is wet). It was also commented that the contributions last year were rather disappointing.

A vote was taken on whether we should go out to dinner and the majority were in favour.

The new Committee is to finalise the details.
